Winners of the International Graffiti street art festival have been chosen

In 4th of May in Jelgava International Graffiti street art festival “Freedom stories” was cocluded, wich occured as a part of celebration of Latvia’s Centenary. After the festival’s jury – Dainis Rudens, Laura Vizbule, Roberts Rurans and Aigars Mamis – decision 3 winners have been chosen.

3rd place in the International Street art festival has been awarded to Zahars Znaidjonovs from Latvia. His artwork “Mushrooming” tells the artist’s story of freedom, where while doing this simple task, hei s feeling free from everything.

However Eriks Caune, who also is from Latvia, with his work “And here so” has been rewarded with the 2nd place. “And here so” tells us story of how every game for a child can turn into adventure of the lifetime.

Lithuanian artist Artur Shirin in this festival has been crowned winner and given the 1st place. His street artwork has been made keeping in mind, that language is the most important and powerful tool that defines a nation.

All together there were 9 participants from 4 countries- Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and France. Jelgava city and the government establishment “Kultura” would like to thank everyone who applied and especially those, who gifted the city 60 meters large artwork – Salme Kulmar, Kate Serzane, Danil Taro, Viesturs Holenders, Roberts Galvins and Aleksandre Beretta.
